DescriptionOriginal 35mm black and white negative taken by an unidentified Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. The image shows Lee Harvey Oswald being escorted out at the conclusion of the midnight press showing at the Dallas Police Department headquarters. Oswald himself is obscured by one of the detectives. A KRLD-TV camera is visible in the top right corner; its lens is quite close to Oswald.
The photographer of this image appears to have climbed up on something to give him a higher perspective of the scene, in a similar fashion to the men who have climbed atop furniture in the top right corner of the image.
Darryl Heikes and another, unidentified, Dallas Times Herald photographer attended the midnight press showing. It is not known which of the two photographers took this picture.
