The transcripts were bound with metal bindings that were removed during the cataloguing process (SD 08/01/2014). Transcript is 268 pages of thin onionskin paper and the front and back covers are thick gray paper. There are some handwritten markings in pencil on the top right corner of the front cover.
Melvin Belli, Joe Tonahill, Phil Burleson and Sam Brody spoke for Ruby; at the beginning of the transcript, local lawyer Tom Howard withdraws from serving on Ruby's defense. Henry Wade, Dallas County District Attorney, was the prosecutor, assisted by Jim Bowie, Bill Alexander and Frank Watts. The presiding judge was Judge Joe B. Brown.
Prospective jurors examined: Hilliard M. Stone, Mrs. C. C. Cherry, J. E. Saunders, and Sherry G. Lundberg. None were selected.

Transcript in ok condition. Onionskin pages are in better condition than front and reverse covers; yellowed on edges. Covers are discolored and edges have tears and folds, especially corners. Edges of three-hole punches have been worn with small tears. Deep vertical crease on front cover just to right of holes.
