Aurora Wible Oral History
Since 2010, it has been a privilege to speak at retirement homes and senior centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and record brief on-the-spot interviews with seniors about their memories of President Kennedy and the assassination for our ongoing Oral History Project. I recall that 2014 was a particularly busy year with six outreach visits to local retirement communities, during which a record thirty-five individuals recorded short oral histories. Several times that year I recall being told that the recent 50th anniversary news coverage in November 2013 had stirred dormant memories, prompting more seniors than usual to volunteer to share their recollections.
During this October 2014 visit to The Aspens at Twin Creeks retirement community in Allen, Texas, I interviewed Ms. Wible as well as Alvie and Patricia Bell, Janet Cormier and Patsy Harrison. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
