The image shows the color guard leading the motorcade through downtown Dallas, Texas, with Senator John F. Kennedy and Senator Lyndon B. Johnson seated on the back of a convertible, during a presidential campaign visit on September 13, 1960. Barefoot Sanders is seated on the side of the car next to Senator Johnson, who is waving his hat. Crowds of people line both sides of the street. The motorcade is driving south on Akard Street (possibly at the intersection with Young Street), and "The Dixie Grill" is on the left side of the image. Confetti can be seen throughout the image, and on the car and Senator Kennedy's hair.
