DescriptionOne color photograph of a stage in Jefferson Square decorated and prepared for Senator John F. Kennedy to make a campaign speech in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 5, 1960.
At the center of the stage is a podium, with two long tables on either side. Curtains behind the stage and the bunting hung in front are also hung with various campaign posters featuring Kennedy and his running mate, Lyndon B. Johnson. The curtain at the back has been opened in the middle and two men can be seen through the opening. There is a long table with folding chairs and several pastel-colored telephones set up just in front of the stage. There are tables set up for members of the press visible in the foreground of the photograph. There are two men standing in front of the stage in the lower left portion of the image.
