In the foreground are people holding campaign signs and signs with state names, and throwing hats. This image is presumably a representation of the 1960 Democratic National Convention. An insert about the political parties is on the opposite page, including a page on "1960."

Kennedy by Norman Rockwell titled "A Time for Greatness." The magazine commissioned the painting in time for the 1964 Democratic National Convention, the first held after Kennedy was assassinated. Rockwell's painting recalls Kennedy's acceptance speech at the 1960 Democratic National Convention in which he invited Americans to join him on a New Frontier.
