DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Rondine Volpert. Born in California in 1961, Volpert is the granddaughter of Ann Rubenstein Volpert, one of Jack Ruby’s siblings. Rondine Volpert did not learn of her great uncle’s connection to the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald until the early 1970s. Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on March 9, 2016 by Ani Simmons and Andy Stark. The interview is twenty-three minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
Several Ruby family members have participated in the Oral History Project over the years. In addition to Rondine Volpert, the Museum recorded interviews with Jack Ruby's late brother, Earl, as well as Earl's daughter, Joyce Ruby Berman, and Fred Ruby, one of Jack Ruby's nephews. The consensus among these individuals is that Jack Ruby's murder of Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963 had a long-lasting emotional and financial impact on the entire Ruby family. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
