DescriptionAudio oral history interview with Hugh Murray. Murray attended Beauregard Junior High School in New Orleans at the same time as Lee Harvey Oswald. After becoming a leftwing activist in high school, he was arrested during the first civil rights sit-in in New Orleans. Interviewed by the FBI within days of the assassination, Murray later observed several days of the controversial Clay Shaw trial. Interview conducted by telephone on November 2, 2016 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and thirty-seven minutes long.

Curatorial Commentary

In addition to junior high student Hugh Murray, the Museum recorded an oral history with the late Dorothy Bush, who was Lee Harvey Oswald's ninth grade science teacher at Beauregard Junior High School in New Orleans, on September 11, 2003.
