Each year, it is my great pleasure to visit retirement homes and community centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to speak with seniors about the Museum and record a series of brief interviews as part of the Oral History Project. I visited Highland Springs retirement community in Dallas on October 25, 2016. After a presentation about the Museum, I recorded brief interviews with five individuals, including Mr. Hoxie. As soon as we started speaking, I knew immediately that we could not possibly cover his interesting career in an abbreviated eight-minute conversation. He very kindly agreed to this much longer follow-up interview early the next year.
