The envelope has a printed facsimile of Mrs. Kennedy's signature franked in the upper right corner of the envelope in black ink. There is no traditional postage stamp or postage marks. Mrs. Kennedy's signature served as the official postage markings for the envelope to be mailed; this is known as privilege franking.

In the center of the front of the envelope is handwritten in black ink the name and address of the recipient. The text is as follows:
"Mr. Wallace Bichsel
And Family
c/o Sacred Heart Church
Box 427
White Deer, Texas".

The reverse of the envelope has a black border on the edges of the overlapping pointed flaps. "Mrs. John F. Kennedy" is printed in all-caps in black ink at the center near the top edge of the reverse of the envelope.

Envelope was opened from the top flap; paper loss along black-bordered edge of bottom flap of envelope.

Envelope originally included a sympathy acknowledgement notecard (2017.048.0001.0002).

Some color loss in black border on reverse - primarily on corners and at point of adhesive closure. Staining on reverse from adhesive; other minimal stains throughout. Envelope in overall ok condition.
