DescriptionMissal booklet from President John F. Kennedy's funeral Mass at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, D.C. on Monday, November 25, 1963. A missal is a book containing the text used in a Catholic Mass. The booklet is covered in textured gray paper and bound along left side with two metal staples; missal pages are numbered 2 to 32. The front cover of the booklet has text printed in purple ink: "The Mass on the Day of Burial for John Fitzgerald Kennedy Born May 29, 1917 Died November 22, 1963 at Saint Matthew's Cathedral Washington, D. C. May he rest in peace."
