DescriptionMachine-woven, vibrantly-colored textile of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and President John F. Kennedy against an American flag background. All edges of the textile have been machine whip-stitched with black thread overlapping parts of the border. The three figures overlap each other with President Kennedy being the most forward figure on the far right of the textile. Each figure's gaze is straight ahead, and they are all shown from the shoulders up. With the exception of some of the fibers used to make up the men's ties, all fibers in this textile have a matte appearance. The nap of the rug is made of a cut pile and lays flat to one side. A tag is stitched into the whip-stitch edging on the reverse in upper right corner; it has the following text printed in red: "D.T.C. RN 22580 42 % RAYON 36 % WASTE COTTON 22 % COTTON MADE IN LEBANON".
