Curatorial Commentary
John Abraham's father, the late George Abraham, was a native of Syria. He worked in the stereotyper department at The Dallas Morning News for a total of thirty-three years. After immigrating to the United States, Abraham lived in both Mississippi and Texas, experiencing experienced years of prejudice and racism which also impacted his son, who was frequently mistaken for an African American. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
