DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Martha Tiller. A longtime public relations executive in Dallas, Tiller worked for CBS Television in New York City in the early 1960s. She attended President Kennedy's birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden on May 19, 1962. Years later, shortly after the Johnsons left the White House, Tiller served as press secretary and social secretary for Lady Bird Johnson.
Interview recorded at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on June 27, 2019 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is fifty-three minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryDuring this oral history, Martha Tiller shows and discusses the ticket stub she saved from President Kennedy's birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden. After the interview, Ms. Tiller generously donated the ticket stub to the Museum. According to the $10 ticket, she was seated in the side arena, section 102, row A, seat 4. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
