DescriptionDallas Police Department's chief of police badge carried by Jesse Curry who served from 1960 to 1966. Chief Curry held the position at the time of the assassination in November of 1963. From top to bottom, the badge reads "Police Dallas 23 Texas Chief." The badge is attached to a leather casing that contains a plastic identification card, identifying Chief Curry as retired on March 11, 1966. The identification card includes a photograph of Jesse Curry on the left, with his name, title, date of issue, and the signature of the current chief of police Charles Batchelor.
