DescriptionVideotaped program commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination, reuniting journalists who covered the event in print and on radio and television. Hosted by longtime Associated Press reporter Mike Cochran, the two-part program begins with a series of firsthand recollections from (in order of appearance) Jack Tinsley and Jon McConal (both Fort Worth Star-Telegram), Karl King (KBOX Radio), Bob Welch, Charles Murphy and Lee Elsesser (all WBAP-TV). This is followed by a panel discussion featuring Hugh Aynesworth (Dallas Morning News), Jim Marrs (author/researcher) and Gary Mack (The Sixth Floor Museum), moderated by Mike Cochran. Program was organized by and held at the Fort Worth Press Club in Fort Worth, in conjunction with The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, on November 19, 1998. The program is one hour and fifty-five minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary

With the exception of Lee Elsesser and the late Jack Tinsley, all program speakers participated in oral histories or public programming at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.

Jon McConal recorded an oral history in 2005 (Jon McConal Oral History – Search McConal (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza). He passed away in 2019.

O.H. "Karl" King recorded an oral history in 2003 (O.H. "Karl" King Oral History – Search karl (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza). He passed away in 2005.

Bob Welch recorded oral histories in 1994 (Bob Welch Oral History – Search Welch (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza) and 2014. He also participated in a Museum public program in 2015: Living History with Bob Welch. He passed away in 2016.

Charles Murphy recorded an oral history in 2005 (Charles Murphy Oral History – Search murphy (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza). He passed away in 2023.

In addition to a number of Museum programs, Hugh Aynesworth recorded an oral history in 1994 (Hugh Aynesworth Oral History – Search Aynesworth (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza). He passed away in 2023.

Jim Marrs recorded an oral history in 2002 (Jim Marrs Oral History – Search marrs (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza). He passed away in 2017.

Gary Mack, Curator of The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, participated in a number of Museum programs (Thesaurus – Vocabularies – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza). He passed away in 2015.

Mike Cochran recorded oral histories in 1993 (Michael Cochran Oral History – Search cochran (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza) and 2013. He passed away in 2022.
