DescriptionOriginal black and white negative by a Dallas Morning News photographer. This image, taken in the spring of 1964, shows an "X" marked on the floor of the basement office at Dallas police headquarters. The shoe of an unknown individual points towards the location. The "X" likely marks the location where Lee Harvey Oswald was brought by law enforcement officials after being shot by Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963. In this location, Oswald was briefly examined by a first aid technician while awaiting an ambulance to Parkland Memorial Hospital.
