DescriptionEnvelope of cream-colored stationery from Jacqueline Kennedy addressed to Mr. Charles Sharp in Dallas, Texas.
The envelope has a printed facsimile of Mrs. Kennedy's signature franked in the upper right corner of the envelope in black ink. There is no traditional postage stamp or postage mark. Mrs. Kennedy's signature served as the official postage markings for the envelope to be mailed; this is known as privilege franking.
In the center of the front of the envelope is handwritten in black ink the name and address of the recipient:
"Mr. Charles Sharp, President
Texas Girl Scout Council
Dallas, Texas".
The date "Mar 20 1964" is stamped in the lower right corner.
The reverse of the envelope has a black border on the edges of the overlapping pointed flaps. "Mrs. John F. Kennedy" is printed in all-caps in black ink at the center near the top edge of the back of the envelope.
This envelope originally enclosed a sympathy acknowledgement notecard.
