DescriptionOriginal 35mm color slide taken by Dallas resident Dorothy Murphy showing Jacqueline Kennedy in the crowd of supporters at Love Field airport on November 22, 1963. Mrs. Kennedy's face is partially obscured, but her distinctive pink outfit and some of the red roses she carries are seen above center of the image. The rest of the frame is filled with the crowd.
Curatorial CommentarySeen at top center in this photograph is U.S. Secret Service agent Roy Kellerman, who rode in the front passanger seat of the presidential limousine at the time of the assassination. When Kellerman died in 1984 at the age of 69, he was the second occupant of the limousine (after President Kennedy) to pass away. Less than one year later, limo driver William Greer passed away at the age of 75. The last two surviving occupants, Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Connally, passed away in 1994 and 2006 respectively. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
