DescriptionColor photograph by amatuer photographer Mrs. T. H. Howell on November 24, 1963. Immediately after the assassination and in the following days and weeks, people left flowers and mementos in Dealey Plaza in honor of President Kennedy. This image shows mourners and memorial flower arrangements in Dealey Plaza. The memorial flowers are placed in the grassy knoll, and the mourners are occupying a small section of the grassy area next to Elm Street. The memorial flowers are protected by a roped section. The photograph shows Elm Street, the Triple Underpass, and the south pergola of Dealey Plaza. A traffic sign reading "Stemmons Freeway - Keep Right" is located in the center of the photograph.
