DescriptionColor photographic print of President John F. Kennedy's temporary grave site at Arlington National Cemetery. A white picket fence surrounds the grave. The eternal flame atop the grave is surrounded by hats from the various armed forces, as well as flowers and memorials. Dozens of people surround the fence. A soldier stands guard over the grave. This picture was taken approximately six months after the assassination, in the spring of 1964. The president's permanent gravesite was finished in early 1967, a little further down the hill.
