DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Louise Raggio. A trailblazing lawyer and longtime crusader for women's rights, Raggio and her late husband, Grier Raggio, attended the Dallas Trade Mart luncheon on November 22, 1963. Grier Raggio, a volunteer lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), went to Dallas police headquarters that evening to observe Lee Harvey Oswald during his arraignment. Previously, Louise Raggio had agreed to represent Ruth Paine during her divorce proceedings, which were delayed as a result of the assassination. Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on August 12, 2005 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is forty-eight minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
Louise Raggio passed away on January 23, 2011. Her autobiography, Texas Tornado: The Life of a Crusader for Women's Rights and Family Justice (2003), was co-authored with longtime Dallas journalist Vivian Castleberry, a Museum friend who recorded several oral histories and public programs over the years.
