DescriptionOriginal 35mm black and white negative by Dallas Morning News photographer Bill Winfrey of Texas Governor John B. Connally and his wife Nellie at a press conference at Dallas Love Field airport five months after the Kennedy assassination.
The American Airlines symbol is visible on the wall behind the Connallys. WFAA-TV reporter Travis Linn can be seen talking on the phone in the background.
Curatorial CommentaryWinfrey's records do not indicate why the Connallys were in Dallas at Love Field, though the Governor's work often took him around Texas and to other states. He and his wife were likely in Dallas for an appearance or, perhaps, a follow-up examination by one of the doctors who treated his injuries during the shooting. - Gary Mack, Curator
