DescriptionAudio oral history interview with Mary Eastwood. Eastwood worked for the U.S. Justice Department during the Kennedy administration and attended a reception at the White House two days before the assassination. A distinguished feminist, she was later a founder of the National Organization for Women (NOW).
Interview conducted by telephone on September 17, 2010 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is forty-one minutes long.

Mary Otelia Eastwood passed away on October 11, 2015 at the age of 85. In addition to co-founding the National Organization for Women (NOW), Eastwood was a founding board member of the Veteran Feminists of America and a board member of the Human Rights for Women organization. During the Kennedy administration, she was a technical secretary to the civil and political rights committee of the president's Commission on the Status of Women. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
