DescriptionAudio oral history interview with Robert Barrett. A Dallas FBI agent in 1963, Barrett was at the Texas School Book Depository, the scene of Officer J.D. Tippit's shooting and the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff following the Kennedy assassination. In the aftermath, he followed up local investigative leads and took detailed measurements in Dealey Plaza for the FBI's scale model. Interview conducted via telephone on February 22, 2011 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is forty-seven minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
Mr. Barrett passed away on August 23, 2017. The FBI's scale model of Dealey Plaza, discussed during this interview, has been on display at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza since the 1990s. The model is on long-term loan from the National Archives. A series of 1964 photographs showing the FBI's scale model of Dealey Plaza in use are listed as Warren Commission Exhibits 878, 879 and 880, found in Warren Commission Hearings and Exhibits, Volume XVII, pages 899-900. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
