DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Lisa Lazo Herndon. A thirteen-year-old Fort Worth native, Herndon had a brief personal encounter with Jackie Kennedy outside the ballroom at the Hotel Texas. During the 1960 election, her family was locally active with the Kennedy campaign.
Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on November 8, 2013 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is forty-one minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryAs mentioned during this interview, Lisa Lazo Herndon wrote a letter to the editor at The Dallas Morning News about her memorable encounter with Mrs. Kennedy in Fort Worth. Her letter was published in the newspaper in August 2013. The Museum quickly reached out for an oral history, which was recorded a few months later. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
