DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Patsy Harrison. A secretary with Texas Instruments for thirty-five years, Harrison witnessed the aftermath of an automobile accident shortly after the presidential motorcade passed her Lemmon Avenue location. She later identified Jack Ruby as one of the men involved and was twice interviewed by officials.
Interview conducted at The Aspens at Twin Creeks retirement community in Allen, Texas, on October 7, 2014 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is forty-five minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryThis unique interview with Patsy Harrison is a great example of why I enjoy doing oral history outreach. Each year, it is my great pleasure to visit retirement homes and community centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to speak with seniors about the Museum and record a series of brief interviews as part of the Oral History Project. Thanks to recent media coverage of the 50th anniversary of the assassination in 2013, the year 2014 was particularly busy with thirty-five interviews recorded at six different retirement homes. Ms. Harrison was one of five individuals who agreed to speak with me during an October 2014 visit to The Aspens at Twin Creeks retirement community in Allen, Texas. Because of her unusual story about seeing Jack Ruby shortly after the presidential parade, Ms. Harrison's oral history has generated some research interest over the years.
