DescriptionAudio oral history interview with Charles Cravotta. Cravotta's family operated a first-floor showroom at the Dallas Trade Mart in 1963. As a result, five-year-old Charles was allowed to stand near the head table to await President Kennedy's arrival at the scheduled luncheon.
Interview conducted via telephone on January 27, 2014 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is thirty minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryIn addition to Charles Cravotta, another child of a Dallas Trade Mart vendor who received permission to be on hand for President Kennedy's arrival at the luncheon was Sharon Weber. Weber, after learning of the assassination, saved a yellow rose from the head table, which she donated to the Museum in 2010.
