DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Jack T. Alexander. A lieutenant with the Dallas Fire Department in 1963, Alexander conducted a safety inspection of the Dallas Trade Mart prior to the presidential luncheon. He was also acquainted with Jack Ruby, having inspected his nightclubs several times over the years.
Interview conducted at The Bentley retirement home in Dallas on October 21, 2015 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is eleven minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryJack T. Alexander passed away on October 7, 2016. On the day of his 2015 oral history, he wife, Imogene Alexander, also recorded an interview. A Dallas housewife in 1963, Imogene Alexander recalled news of the president's shooting interrupting the long-running soap opera, As The World Turns. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
