Curatorial Commentary
The Tippits' eldest son, Allan, passed away in 2014 following a long battle with lung cancer. The surviving Tippit family members seen in this photograph - widow Marie and children Brenda and Curtis - shared their memories at a public program at The Sixth Floor Museum in 2015, marking what would have been Officer Tippit's 90th birthday. A video of this program can be viewed on the Museum's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bQkpA_D5bo. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
