DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Jim Ewell. A police reporter at The Dallas Morning News in 1963, Ewell covered President Kennedy's arrival at Dallas Love Field. Following the assassination, he was in Dealey Plaza, at the Tippit shooting scene and inside the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff during the arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald. Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on December 14, 1993 by Wes Wise and Bob Porter. The interview is one hour and forty-six minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
Just over twenty years after this 1993 oral history, Jim Ewell recorded a second interview with the Museum on January 31, 2014. He also participated in a 2013 Museum panel discussion in conjunction with The Ochberg Society for Trauma Journalism.
