DescriptionAudio oral history interview with Anne Shields. An employee of the National Security Agency in 1963, Shields observed President Kennedy’s funeral procession in Washington, D.C. She later worked in the office of Senator Robert Kennedy and volunteered during his 1968 presidential campaign.
Interview conducted on February 13, 2018, by Curator Stephen Fagin. The interview is 30 minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryAnne Shield's sister, Martha Grossman, also recorded an interview for the Museum's ongoing Oral History Project in 2018. Inspired by President Kennedy, Grossman and her husband joined the Peace Corps shortly after the assassination.
