DescriptionAudio oral history interview with Martin Nowak. A native of Buffalo, New York, Nowak was twelve years old in 1963. He is the author of "The White House in Mourning: Deaths and Funerals of Presidents in Office" (2010), as well as a book about presidential connections to Buffalo. Interview conducted by telephone on April 16, 2018 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is twenty-seven minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
In addition to The White House in Mourning: Deaths and Funerals of Presidents in Office (2010), Martin S. Nowak is the author of Buffalo and the Presidents (2017), which explores presidential connections to his hometown of Buffalo, New York. Nowak additionally is a longtime columnist with Polish American Journal and has contributed a number of articles to various regional newspapers and magazines, including Western New York Heritage Magazine. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
