DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Karen Whyte. A native of British Columbia, Whyte was seven years old and home sick from school on the day of the assassination. Fulfilling a lifelong goal, she visited Dealey Plaza for the first time in 2018. Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on July 13, 2018 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is twenty-four minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
According to Ms. Whyte, she "waited fifty-five years to come to Dallas from British Columbia to commemorate President John F. Kennedy" and achieved her goal on July 10, 2018. The following day, she contacted the Museum to volunteer for the Oral History Project and recorded this interview just a few hours before catching her return flight to British Columbia. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
