DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Andy Krieger. As a student at Stanford University, Krieger was inspired by a speech given by Sargent Shriver to join the Peace Corps. He served in Ethiopia from 1966 to 1968 and vividly recalls the local reaction to the assassination of Robert Kennedy.
Interview conducted via Zoom on January 27, 2021 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and thirteen minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryThe last twelve minutes of this recording features a narrated slideshow of images from Andy Krieger's service in the Peace Corps. Following this oral history, Mr. Krieger kindly recommended that I interview Lee Desta, another Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Ethiopia (1966-68). Her 2022 oral history may be found here: https://emuseum.jfk.org/objects/73166. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
