DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Dr. Scott Langston. Langston is the son of the late John N. Langston, Jr. who was an air traffic control supervisor at Dallas Love Field on November 22, 1963. In a 1976 medical disability application, the late Mr. Langston cited his stressful experience on the day of the assassination as a primary example of the detrimental impact of his job on his mental and physical health. Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on January 10, 2023 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is thirty-six minutes long.

Curatorial Commentary

Dr. Scott Langston's father, John N. Langston, Jr. passed away on October 2, 2007 at the age of eighty-seven. During World War II, John Langston served in the U.S. Air Force and was a radio operator on a B-29 bomber. As discussed in this interview, he then became an air traffic controller after the war. Mr. Langston retired from air traffic control in 1976 and went on to sell real estate in the Conroe, Texas area. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
