DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Robert Gemberling. Gemberling joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1941 and was transferred to the Dallas FBI office in 1956. In 1964, he was placed in charge of the local investigation into the Kennedy assassination. Gemberling retired from the FBI in 1976. Interview conducted at Mr. Gemberling's home on July 30, 1997 by Bob Porter. The interview is one hour and twenty-eight minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
After retiring from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1976, Robert Perry Gemberling became vice president of Lakewood Bank and Trust in Dallas. He later worked as a private investigator while continuing to lecture on the Kennedy assassination and contribute to books and television programs. Notably, Gemberling once lectured on the assassination at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He passed away on December 4, 2004 at the age of 82. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
