Curatorial Commentary
This photograph is an example of how even the pros don't always get the best picture.  This image shows the president at his closest to photographer Beal, yet the resulting image is nowhere near what he had hoped to get.  Nevertheless, the photo does show the president's extreme vulnerability to anyone intent on causing physical harm. - Gary Mack, Curator.
