DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with John Crain. Since the 1970s, Crain has worked with a variety of institutions including the Texas Historical Commission and the Texas State Historical Association. As longtime chairman of the Dallas Historical Society, he served on the founding board of the Dallas County Historical Foundation and was involved in the development of The Sixth Floor exhibit.
Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on June 26, 2013 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and two minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryJohn Crain was longtime president of the Summerlee Foundation of Dallas and previously served as the foundation's Vice President and Program Director for Texas History. In addition his role as an ex-officio member of the board of the Dallas County Historical Foundation, Crain has been involved in a number of community and state organizations, including the Dallas Historical Society, Friends of the Texas State History Museum, Texas Map Society and the Star of the Republic Museum at Washington-on-the-Brazos. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
