DescriptionOriginal 35mm color slide of a news reporter interviewing an unknown man on the south side of Elm Street in Dealey Plaza with the Texas School Book Depository building visible in the background. The image was taken by amateur photographers Rudy and Vera Clauss on Sunday, November 24, 1963, two days after the assassination of President Kennedy. A crowd of people can be seen gathered around the news reporter.

Curatorial Commentary

After the assassination, Rudy and Vera Clauss apparently visited Dealey Plaza around noon on Saturday, November 23, where they took a series of photographs (2018.006.17 to 2018.006.24). They then returned the following afternoon on Sunday, November 24, to take additional photographs (2018.006.0025 to 2018.006.0038) as well as an 8mm home movie (2018.006.0001). -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
