Corine Sutherland's father, the late Dr. Donald Alexander Sutherland (1923-2005), worked at both St. Paul Hospital and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. At the time of the assassination, Sutherland, director of medical education at St. Paul Hospital, was having lunch with colleagues at Parkland when he heard the STAT call for surgeons in the Emergency room. Although Sutherland did not go down to the trauma center, he soon learned about the shooting in Dealey Plaza. In the early 1960s, he was acquainted with several prominent individuals, including Governor John Connally and conservative activist H.L. Hunt. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
