DescriptionOne original 120mm black and white negative image taken by Dallas Times Herald staff photographer Andy Hanson. This image captures a busy newsroom at the Dallas Times Herald on November 22, 1963. Several staff members are gathered around desks filled with news materials, including managing editor Felix McKnight, who is seated in the center of the image, looking at his typewriter. The seated reporter on the far left is Bill Sloan.
Curatorial Commentary
Two individuals seen in this photograph recorded oral history interviews with the Museum. Managing editor Felix McKnight, seated at the typewriter, recorded an oral history in 1995: Felix McKnight Oral History – Works – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. He passed away in 2004. The young reporter seated on the far left, Bill Sloan, recorded oral histories in 2001 (Bill Sloan Oral History – Works – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza) and 2014.
