DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Ron Carver. A Massachusetts native, Carver spent the summer of 1964 working at the Atlanta headquarters of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee. He then volunteered with SNCC for the next year in Mississippi, where he was once arrested and beaten in jail. As a student at Columbia University in 1968, Carver became an anti-Vietnam War activist. He is co-editor of "Waging Peace in Vietnam: U.S. Soldiers and Veterans Who Opposed the War" (2019). Interview conducted via Zoom on May 24, 2021 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and eleven minutes long.
