Curatorial Commentary
Over the course of six years, Halsey Beemer and his siblings, Christopher and Teresa Beemer, compiled a remarkable family history, which was self-published as a 626-page illustrated hardcover book, Beemer Memories and Family Stories, in 2018. The book, which is currently available on Amazon, includes a chapter about Beemer's service in the Peace Corps. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
In this oral history, Mr. Beemer discusses a November 25, 1963 telegram that he received from the Peace Corps regarding the assassination. Shortly after this recording, Mr. Beemer kindly donated the original telegram to the Museum (2022.014.0001). -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
