DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Andy Hanson. A student activist at San Diego State University, Hanson volunteered for the 1960 Kennedy campaign. He attended the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles and became acquainted with Ted Kennedy as his personal driver in San Diego. Hanson was an early Peace Corps volunteer, serving in Liberia from 1962 to 1964. Upon returning to the United States, he became an anti-war activist and was later a Peace Corps trainer. Interview conducted via Zoom on November 14, 2022 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and twenty-four minutes long.

Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Andy Hanson is not to be confused with longtime Dallas Times Herald photographer Andy Hanson. The late photojournalist Andy Hanson covered the Kennedys in Fort Worth and later documented the assassination aftermath across Dallas. He recorded an oral history in 1996: https://emuseum.jfk.org/objects/15770. The Museum acquired his assassination-related negatives and photographs in 2016. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
