DescriptionVideotaped program with Eddie Barker. In 1963, Barker was news director for Dallas CBS affiliate KRLD-TV. Reporting from the Dallas Trade Mart, Barker was the first to announce the death of President Kennedy on air. He was heavily involved in local coverage of the assassination and interviewed many key participants over the years. His remarks preceded a book signing following the release of his autobiography, "Eddie Barker's Notebook," with additional comments by Curator Gary Mack.
This program was recorded at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on June 8, 2006. The recording is fifteen minutes long.

Eddie Barker's 2006 memoir, Eddie Barker's Notebook: Stories That Made the News, and Some Better Ones That Didn't! was co-authored with Dr. John Mark Dempsey, an associate professor at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
