DescriptionVideotaped oral history program titled "Living History: Eugene Boone." Boone was the Dallas deputy sheriff who discovered the rifle on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Prior to joining the sheriff's department, he worked at the Dallas Times Herald and had contact with Jack Ruby. Program conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on November 18, 2008 to mark the 45th anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy. Boone was interviewed by Associate Curator Stephen Fagin. The program is 47 minutes long.

In addition to this 2008 public program, Mr. Boone also recorded one-on-one oral histories with the Museum in 2003 and 2014 and participated in Museum programs in 2006, 2013, and 2014.  His most recent program, part of the Museum's 2014 "Living History" series, can be viewed in its entirety on the Museum's YouTube Channel. - Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator
A longtime friend of the Museum, Eugene Boone passed away on October 28, 2017. He participated in the Museum's inaugural audio tour, produced by Antenna, recorded in 1988 and available on the Museum's opening day of February 20, 1989. Following that, he first recorded an oral history with the Museum in 2003: Eugene Boone Oral History – Search Eugene Boone (Objects) – Search – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.
