DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Paul Wilkins. A patrolman with the Dallas Police Department in 1963, Wilkins observed the Kennedy motorcade at the corner of Main and Harwood Streets. Following the assassination, Wilkins was involved in the initial search of the sixth and seventh floors of the Texas School Book Depository. He was among those who first discovered the Mannlicher-Carcano rifle in the northwest corner of the sixth floor.
Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on April 15, 2009 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is forty-seven minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryIn March 2009, a month prior to this oral history, Paul Wilkins contributed a lengthy article entitled "November 22, 1963: As Lived by Paul K. Wilkins, DPD #1469" to the March 2009 issue of the Kennedy assassination researchers newsletter Dealey Plaza Echo (Vol. 13, No. 1).
