DescriptionVideotaped Living History program with Vivian Castleberry. Considered the "grandmother of women journalists in Dallas," Castleberry was the long-time editor of women's news at the Dallas Times Herald. On the day of the assassination, she was waiting at the Trade Mart to cover Jacqueline Kennedy's visit to the city. After the shooting, Castleberry worked in the Times Herald newsroom and wrote several human interest stories that weekend.
Program conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on August 5, 2009 by Associate Curator Stephen Fagin. The program is forty-four minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryThis "Living History" discussion was the third of three Museum programs that featured Vivian Castleberry, recorded between 2006 and 2009, in addition to two oral history interviews with The Sixth Floor Museum recorded in 1991 and 2004. - Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator
