Curatorial Commentary
Several Ruby family members have participated in the Oral History Project over the years. In addition to Joyce Ruby Berman, the Museum recorded interviews with her late father, Earl Ruby (Jack's brother), as well as Fred Ruby (Jack's nephew) and Rondine Volpert, granddaughter of Ann Rubenstein Volpert (one of Jack's sisters). The consensus among these individuals is that Jack Ruby's murder of Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963 had a long-lasting emotional and financial impact on the entire Ruby family. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
